Balcom Canyon Cider (@balcomcanyoncider) is a Hard Cider business located in Ventura, California distributing in over 200 bars, restaurants, groceries, and liquor stores across Southern and Northern California. They value natural, organic ingredients, no added sugars, and producing ciders with health consciousness in mind. With the support of the team's concepts, I led the Creative Direction for the Packaging Design for all seven flavors of hard ciders that the brand currently produces.
Challenge:
Creating bottle and can label designs for each of Balcom Canyon Cider's releases.
Solution:
Illustrative, colorful, and eye-catching packaging. Each label design carefully considers the unique ingredients, distinctive flavors, price points, and seasons of release.
Hard ciders at the base price point (see left) were designed with the same layout: a circular focal point, background pattern, and borders at the top and bottom of the label. These "ringer tee" inspired looks are perfect for casual, on-the-go events.
Special releases and hard ciders at higher price points (see right) showcase layouts with more scenic or minimal details. These designs consider the seasons in which they are released and are great for more formal events, family gatherings, or dinner parties.
The Gateway Session label design showcases the brand's mascot, Miss Moo, in full form and introduces more characters at the farm thru a new, scenic approach that utilizes the entire surface of the can.
